Description

A sustainable light source is now a well-known feature in and around every household. The FlinQ Butterfly Solar Lamps are a unique addition to that range. These lamps are one with nature in two ways: in form and in use. You no longer need electricity or batteries to illuminate the space around your house or building. Let nature give you a helping hand.

Not only does the shape of this lamp remind you of a butterfly, the design also has the unique appearance of the flying insect. The lamp owes its name to the light effect that resembles a butterfly. The butterfly effect is created by light from the left, right and from below. As if the lamp is moving on the wall.

On one side, the butterfly lamp is equipped with a solar panel. This captures the energy needed to make the underside shine. A solar lamp in its optimal form.

Sustainable wall lamp
– Modern design LED wall lamp provides lighting around the house
– Solar panel on the lamp provides necessary energy: light makes light!
– Available in two different sizes (and strengths)
– Includes motion sensors for extra sustainable use
– Sustainable wall lamp for around the house

The lamp charges during the day and gets maximum power from the sunlight that is captured. This also happens when the sun shines behind the clouds. The lamp then shines at night when someone walks by, or when other movement is detected. This makes the solar lamp even more efficient – you have light when you need it.

The FlinQ Butterfly Solar Lamp is available in two different sizes and strengths. Choose the compact Geisha (1.5W and 220lm) or the larger Atalanta (4W and 500lm). Both are IP65 waterproof. On a rainy day, you don’t have to worry about the solar panel not being able to handle the precipitation.

The ideal installation height for the solar lamp is estimated at 2 to 4 meters, depending on the location of the lamp. Choose a spot where you can use the light well. The power of the LED lights will amaze you: this butterfly shines.

Geisha Operating Mode
The Solar Lamp Geisha has two operating modes. In Mode A, the lamp switches to full light when movement is detected within 6 meters. The lamp switches to dimmer light (front light on and back light on) after 10 seconds without movement. In Mode B, the lamp also switches to full light when movement is detected within 6 meters. After that, the lamp switches to dimmer light after 10 seconds without movement, but now with the front light off and the back light on. You can switch between modes yourself. One click is mode A, a second click is mode B, a third click to turn the lamp off.

How solar lighting works in autumn or winter

FlinQ solar lamps – how do they actually work?
Our FlinQ solar lamps are equipped with a built-in solar panel that converts sunlight into electricity during the day. This energy is stored in a battery in the lamp, allowing it to automatically light up in the evening – no cables, no outlet needed.

Sunlight is really necessary
A solar lamp needs direct sunlight to charge properly. The more and stronger the sun shines, the fuller the battery gets and the longer the lamp can shine in the dark. On a clear summer day, the lamp charges much better than on a gray, cloudy day.

Less effective in winter
In autumn and winter, the sun is:
– less strong
– present for a shorter time
– more often covered by clouds

As a result, solar lamps can noticeably work less effectively in winter. They shine for a shorter time, less brightly, or sometimes not at all. If there is little to no sun for an extended period (for example, during days of heavy cloud cover or rainy weather), the battery may not charge sufficiently, and the lamp may not turn on at all in the evening.

Tip for the best results
– Always place the solar lamp in a location where the solar panel receives maximum sunlight (preferably not under a roof, tree, or balcony).
– Keep the solar panel clean so that it can capture light effectively.

How Long Does it Take for a Solar Lamp to Fully Charge?

The time it takes for a solar lamp to charge depends on various factors, such as the type of lamp, the amount of sunlight, and the battery capacity. Generally, it takes about 6 to 8 hours to fully charge a FlinQ solar lamp. Keep in mind that during the winter months, a solar lamp charges slower and less effectively than during the summer months. The number of daylight hours is significantly less in winter compared to summer months.

Why Does My Solar Lamp Stay Lit for a Shorter Time in Winter than in Summer?

During the winter months, the days are much shorter and the sun’s power is significantly weaker. As a result, the lamps charge slower than in the summer months.

Can the Battery of the Solar Lamp be Replaced?

No, FlinQ solar lamps have a battery that cannot be replaced.

How Long Does a Solar Lamp Last on a Full Battery?

Depending on the internal battery and the type of solar panel, a FlinQ solar lamp can last up to 32 hours on a full battery. The placement of the lamp, as well as the intensity of the sun in combination with the number of sun hours in a day, determine how long a solar lamp can burn. When installing, make sure the lamp gets enough sunlight during the day.
