Description
Sometimes you forget how important the air around you is. With the FlinQ CO2 meter, you stay accurately informed about the air quality in your home. The quality of oxygen and air you breathe daily greatly affects how you feel. Doctors and medical professionals can’t stress enough how important it is to have plants in your home, for example. This meter tracks the carbon dioxide level in your home, checks the air temperature, and assesses the humidity in real-time! This device should not be missing from your office, living room, or even your bedroom.
What is CO2?
CO2 is carbon dioxide, a gas naturally present in the atmosphere. It is colorless and odorless, so you can’t see or smell it. However, due to human activities, from driving cars to large factory production, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased dramatically over the last 150 years. As a result, the balance of gases in the air is changing, and the insulating blanket of gases surrounding the earth is at risk. The consequence is an average temperature increase and a change in the climate. The more greenhouse gases, the more heat is absorbed. Too much CO2 in the air is therefore not good.
Air Quality
The amount of carbon dioxide in the air can also change the air quality. For example, the air near a large factory is less clean than the air in the Austrian Alps. Too much carbon dioxide in the space you’re in can cause headaches, dizziness, or make you feel extra tired.
Ventilation
With a CO2 meter, you can finally monitor the air in your living environment. The air quality meter gives you immediate insight and assesses your living space. This way, you know when to open a window while working from home, preventing a nasty headache. Oxygen is our most precious resource, so make sure the air you breathe is clean!
PPM
Smart people have found a way to express the ratio of CO2 levels in the air. This is done through PPM, parts per million. If the CO2 PPM indoors is too high, it means you need to ventilate the space. At 450 to 800 PPM, we speak of a well-ventilated space. From 800 to 1200 PPM, it’s a poorly ventilated space: staying in these values for too long can affect your concentration level. If the carbon dioxide PPM rises to 1200 to 2000, your brain may receive less oxygen in this space. This can be harmful and lead to health issues.
Benefits of a CO2 Meter
It’s especially important that a CO2 meter indicates in time when the air quality is about to become poor. It is therefore equipped with three indication colors. Green means the air quality is good, orange means it’s normal, and red means it’s really wise to open a window. The carbon dioxide meter has a built-in alarm that warns you in time of a too-high CO2 level. You can turn this alarm on and off yourself and set it to the desired CO2 level (default 900 PPM, WHO guideline). FlinQ is happy to help you maintain a healthy living environment!
